2Kontagious Entertainment was founded by Kris “Kartel a.k.a DJ Kartel” Joseph. Born and raised on the beautiful island of Dominica, moving from Dominica to the USA in 1995. Growing up, Kris would often DJ for house parties and events back home in Dominica. Raised around music, his uncle Derick “Rah” Peters was in a band called WCK. Rah played a big influence in Kris’s musical surroundings, by taking him too many different shows they would play within the West Indies and Kris was able to work with them closely, learning the art of the music industry. Kris is a talented young individual, who prides himself on being loyal, diplomatic and ambitious. He attended John Jay College in 2002, where he entered into International Law program of studies. During his educational period, he would become DJ personnel for the college on their radio station. This is where Kris created his company 2Kontagious Entertainment. Completing his studies and graduating in 2006, 2Kontagious ENT has become his undeviating passion. All his hard work has enabled 2Kontagious ENT to become a worldwide affiliation with countries such as England, Canada, Dominica, Puerto Rico, St Lucia and Trinidad. 2Kontagious Entertainment & Dj kartel have traveled to various places to bringing the musical livelihood to others. They play at local clubs and colleges in Boston, North Carolina, Atlanta and also at events such as birthday parties, clubs, weddings, fetes and much more. Dj Kartel has a live to air radio show on backyardsounds.net. With the show being live to air every Wednesday, DJ Kartel currently holds the largest amount of fans for the radio show on backyard sounds. Playing music from many different genres and showing his versatility to his audience, he entertains his fans with shout outs worldwide and also musical requests. He has had many guests that have appeared on his show like Rah from WCK, Benji from Triple Kay and several other fellow djs.

In 2007 Kris began working with Garford Alexander a.k.a DJ iNFAMOUS, a fellow Dominican deejaying in New York as well. With the combined efforts of Kartel and Infamous, 2Kontagious Entertainment was able to establish the first website, www.2kontagious.com, broadening the audience of and ideas of 2Kontagious ENT. 2Kontagious Entertainment has a vision to bring people and music together and achieve harmony. Believing in God first and everything after, they want to become very positive individuals in society worldwide. 2Kontagious Entertainment has been moving things up a notch; taking their skills and talents to higher heights. Over the past year, Kartel has gone from being crowned DJ of the year on the most listened to online radio website Backyard Sounds, feeding fans all over the world with the music they so love live every Wednesday night to deejaying and hosting parties abroad.
In New York, Kartel has welcomed many different artists to join him on his, Sewo Wednesday night show, hosting events alongside other DJ’s, such as DJ Cosmos, Power Sounds and A Fu Awe Sounds. Labor Day Weekend, Kartel played alongside WCK and DJ Matthew from England, hosted at the Grove, giving the fans a full night of fun and entertainment they would never forget.
